Holiday hutches
We limit the number of holiday hutches available to ensure that your Rabbit(s) or Guinea Pig(s) get the love and attention they deserve when staying at Langney Lodge. To avoid aggression/injury/stress and to minimise disease transfer, your pet(s) will not come in direct contact with any other guest or our own animals. As such, all animals will have their own holiday hutch and outdoor run throughout the duration of their stay. We intend to exercise all animals daily in outdoor runs, however, this is entirely weather dependent.
Food
Water bottles, feed bowls, fresh water, Timothy hay, veggies, chew toys, hidey houses, fresh grass and wood shavings are supplied by Langney Lodge Small Animal Boarding and are included in your board fee. Owners are more than welcome to bring along their pet(s) favourite treats/toys should they choose to do so. Owners are asked to provide enough dry food for their pets throughout the entire duration of their stay. We recommend that pet owners provide an additional 2-3 days worth of food on top of this in case of emergencies or unexpected delays which can occur while away. Should dry food not be supplied by the owners, then Rabbit(s) or Guinea Pig(s) will be fed from our own supply and an additional £2.00 per hutch per day charge will be applied at the owners cost. This additional cost will be payable before pet pick-up.
Unexpected delays & changes to boarding
We understand that emergencies may arise during your holiday which may delay you picking up your pet on the agreed pick-up date. Please contact us as soon as possible should such a situation arise. We will accommodate your request if we have availability, however, this may not always be the case if we are fully booked or have limited space. The owner will be charged full boarding rates applicable for extra days. Upon agreement, owners are welcome to pick-up their pet(s) earlier than stated during the original booking at their own request. However, we will not provide refunds for unused days if you decide to collect your pet(s) early.
Drop-off & pick-up times
Please be courteous and stick to the arranged drop-off and pick-up times agreed upon booking. Langney Lodge Small Animal Boarding is run alongside other jobs and we may have other appointments and commitments booked in and around your drop-off and pick-up times. If you are running late please do let us know.
Payments
For single-night bookings, full payment is due upfront during booking (via BACS payment) before we can accept your Rabbit(s) or Guinea Pig(s) for boarding. To secure bookings that are for two-nights or more, a £10.00 deposit payable upon booking (via BACS payment) is required with the full final remaining amount due before pet drop-off (minus the £10.00 booking deposit). The booking deposit is non-refundable if you fail to drop-off your pet at the start of the agreed stay duration without at least providing 24 hours notice of cancellation. We only accept cash or BACS payments.
Cancellations
We are a small business and last minute cancellations mean that we miss out on income that could have been earned from our holiday hutches. Should you require a cancellation to a booking, please provide us with at least two weeks notice before the start of your booking duration. This enables us enough time to potentially re-book the holiday hutch for somebody else. This is especially important during busy periods. For two-night stays or more, we require at least 24 hours notice of cancellation otherwise the £10.00 booking deposit becomes non-refundable.
Pet health
All owners are asked to ensure that their Rabbits and Guinea Pigs are in good health before bringing them to Langney Lodge Small Animal Boarding. The welfare of your pet is of the utmost importance to us and we will not accept any animals that appear unwell on arrival. We will not accept any pregnant animals, any mixed un-neutered/spayed pairs or groups, or animals with wet, matted or dirty bottoms.
Neutered Rabbits are much less likely to display undesirable hormone-induced behaviours such as aggression, urine spraying (or territorial marking), and mounting. Consequently, we do not accept un-neutered male Rabbits and all bonded pairs or groups must be spayed and/or neutered prior to boarding. If you have any questions relating to this, please contact us to discuss.
If your pet is on prescribed medication from your vet before staying at Langney Lodge Small Animal Boarding, please contact us in advance to discuss their needs and requirements. Note we do not provide a syringe feeding service for any animals.
If your pet becomes suddenly sick during its stay, we will contact you immediately to discuss your wishes. In the unfortunate event of this occurring, we will prioritise your pet's welfare at all times and may seek veterinary assistance if necessary following the owners' approval. If pet owners are unavailable, we will prioritise your pet's best interests and may seek veterinary assistance ourselves, which the owner(s) will be liable for paying in full and any associated costs to Langney Lodge Small Animal Boarding as a result. Langney Lodge Small Animal Boarding is released and accept no liability for any sickness, injury or death of any animal during its stay. By booking a stay at Langney Lodge, owners accept full liability and agree that they are leaving their animal(s) entirely at their own risk.

Vaccinations
All Rabbits are required to be up-to-date with their vaccinations prior to boarding, and must be vaccinated against Myxomatosis and Haemorrhagic Viral Disease (RHD1) (RHD2). If your rabbit(s) have not been vaccinated, please consult with your vet before booking a stay with us. They will offer the following vaccination(s):

Vaccinations must be in date for the entire duration of your pet's stay at Langney Lodge Small Animal Boarding and all boosters are required seven days prior to your pet's stay. First time vaccinations, overdue boosters or the Nobivac Myxo Rhvd Plus must be administered 21 days prior to your pet's stay. Unfortunately we cannot accept any rabbits that are unvaccinated or do not meet the above criteria. This is to ensure the safety of your pet, our animals and other guests during your pet's stay. Fighting & aggression
If you are boarding two or more animals, please ensure they have been appropriately bonded before the duration of your stay. If your bonded Rabbits or Guinea Pigs start fighting or display any signs of aggression toward one another, we will separate them immediately and the owner will be liable for the cost of an extra holiday hutch at our standard rate. Separation will be performed as the welfare of your animals is of the upmost importance to us. Langney Lodge Small Animal Boarding does not take any liability for any costs associated with any injuries sustained due to fighting and/or aggression.
Insurance & property
We have full Public Liability insurance up to the sum of £1,000,000 underwritten by Chiswell Insurance. Take care when entering and exiting our property, we endeavour to ensure that our property is safe at all times but accidents may happen. Please respect our neighbours by entering and exiting the property quietly, take home your litter and park responsibly and in accordance to the Highway Code. We have a family dog on-site, should this be an issue please let us know in advance. Children must be accompanied by a responsible adult at all times.
Pet abandonment or non-collection
Failure to collect your pet for more than seven days without any communication from the owner(s) after the agreed pick-up date will result in the transfer of ownership of your pet(s) to Langney Lodge Small Animal Boarding. We will then seek to rehome your pet(s) in accordance with the RSPCA or local rehoming charities and the owner will be liable for any costs that this may incur including any outstanding additional board accrued during the seven day period.
Refusal
Langney Lodge Small Animal Boarding reserves the right to refuse boarding should your pet(s) display any signs of pregnancy, sickness and/or disease, are underweight or are experiencing signs of neglect. Rabbit(s) that have not been vaccinated within the time limited specified above will not be accepted for boarding. We reserve the right to refuse boarding if payment has been been received in full prior to drop-off. We also reserve the right to refuse to feed your pet(s) food items that may be detrimental to their health, e.g., human food, during their stay. We have a zero tolerance policy towards any verbal or physical abuse. We will not accept pet(s) with wet, matted or dirty bottoms and we reserve the right to refuse any future bookings from owners that do not adhere to all of our Terms & Conditions. Our word is final should we refuse a pet(s) boarding at Langney Lodge Small Animal Boarding.
